DPI Alum Jessica Ingram photographs A Year of Avoiding Eviction in Tennessee for The New Yorker

Cara Grimes and her fiancé, Justin Pitts, moved with their eight-year-old daughter from Delaware, Ohio, to Bedford County, Tennessee, in the spring of 2019. After Covid-19 hit middle Tennessee, the couple struggles, falls behind on rent, and ultimately recieve an eviction notice in October 2020, during the federal moratorium on evictions.
