For the past decade, a group of artists known as the Cause Collective have been staging thought-provoking installations and art projects worldwide. In Search Of The Truth, ongoing since 2011, is a touring installation which consists of an inflatable "Truth Booth," a sort of modern-day confessional where participants record a short video responding to idea of truth and what it means to them.
The Truth Booth has toured all around the United States, as well as Ireland, Afghanistan, South Africa, and now Australia. Cause Collective member and Tisch Photography & Imaging alumnus Hank Willis Thomas is accompanying the booth on its current visit to Sydney's Art & About program.
"No matter where we are in the world, there are common things people struggle with — from loss, love and hunger to the feeling that you are worth more than your social media profile. The truth is something we can all relate to.," Willis Thomas told The Australian.
In addition to Hank Willis Thomas, DPI Faculty Bayeté Ross-Smith is also a Cause Collective member.
