Cry It Out, Written by Molly Smith Metzle and directed by Kristen Kelso
Performance Studies alumni Kristen Kelso (M.A. '20) has directed a new play CRY IT OUT by Molly Smith Metzler (Shameless, Maid) at the Gene Frankel Theatre.
Jessie and Lina don’t seem to have anything in common–except being sleep-deprived new mothers stuck at home all day in Long Island. One coffee becomes a daily meeting during naptime, as they bond over the highs and lows of their new reality. Cry It Out by Molly Smith Metzler (Shameless, Maid) takes a sharp and humorous look at the absurdities of new motherhood, the power of female friendship, and the effect socio-economic class has on parenthood in America.
At the show, the team will be collecting donations for CHiPS, which is a soup kitchen, food pantry and shelter. They have a women's shelter called the Frances Residence, which specifically provides shelter and food for pregnant women & single mothers and their infants, including pre and post-natal care.
The show runs Thursday, Dec. 15th - Sunday, Dec. 18th at the Gene Frankel Theatre.
