Performance Studies BA students Addison Alvarado and Yuyoung Chung are excited to share a call for participation and submissions for Performance&, a new initiative exploring performance in its many forms.
Performance& is a student-led platform and gathering space dedicated to experimenting with performance, creative expression, and interdisciplinary work. It aims to bring together diverse practices and voices to examine what performance can be beyond traditional definitions. The curators express their enthusiasm for sharing this initiative and look forward to its future developments. Together, they bring a wide range of strengths, including knowledge, performance practices, entertainment experience, and, most importantly, distinct perspectives and curiosity. Their goal is to present engaging, fresh, and thought-provoking work across performance, art, and theory.
The initiative prioritizes inclusivity and collaboration across a wide range of interests, fostering a supportive environment that encourages growth and learning through the lens of Performance Studies. Drawing on an expansive understanding of performance, it engages with diverse themes to promote a rich exchange of perspectives and cultivate a globally minded space that enhances artistic expression.
The organization is dedicated to networking, collaboration, and continuous learning, with the aim of creating a smooth transition from college to professional artistic careers. In doing so, it bridges performance with everyday life, encouraging ongoing dialogue around interdisciplinary approaches to both performance and lived experience. Audiences are invited to stay tuned for what’s to come.
