Performance Studies Associate Professor Alexandra T. Vazquez will kick off this year's O, Miami Poetry Festival in conversation with poet Hanif Abdurraqib on how music and other cultural activities forge a sense of place.
With principal funding provided by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the goal of the annual O, Miami Poetry Festival is for every single person in Miami-Dade County to encounter a poem. Each festival begins on April 1 and ends on April 30. Mixing site-specific events, community gatherings, and poetry-in-public-places projects, the festival strives to be a celebration of Miami and its people.
The event will take place on opening night, April 1st at 7:30pm. Additional details about the event as well as a link to register can be found below.
