We are thrilled to announce that Olivia (Jiaxuan) Yin, a 2023 graduate of ITP, has won the prestigious 2024 Yugo BAFTA Student Award for Immersive with her project, “Smell Like Home.”
“Smell Like Home” is a groundbreaking multisensory virtual reality experience that explores the profound concepts of home and belonging through the evocative power of scents embedded in memories. This innovative project immerses viewers in recreated virtual environments that resonate with emotions and memories related to home.
Using a unique scent-releasing device designed specifically for this project, viewers navigate through emotional responses to home, capturing three pivotal moments in the creator’s life, each marked by a distinctive scent. The project masterfully combines technology and sensory experiences to create an unforgettable journey that connects deeply with audiences.
Olivia's achievement is a testament to the creative and innovative spirit fostered at ITP. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishment and look forward to seeing how she continues to push the boundaries of immersive experiences.
