OBIE Winner Andrew Schneider to Bring YOUARENOWHERE to 3LD Art & Technology Center

3-Legged Dog will present the return engagement of the critically acclaimed YOUARENOWHERE, created and performed by Andrew Schneider. Part of The Tank's Flint & Tinder, their flagship theater program, YOUARENOWHERE begins performances on Wednesday, March 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 3. Press opening is Sunday, March 20 at 8 PM. The performance schedule is Monday and Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM. Performances are at 3LD Art and Technology Center (80 Greenwich Street, at Rector, in downtown Manhattan). Tickets are $25 for general admission ($15 for students with valid student ID); $35 for reserved premium seating. Tickets are available by calling Ovationtix at 866-811-4111 or visiting www.3ldnyc.org.

YOUARENOWHERE is a rapid-fire existential meditation, which mixes physics lecture, pop culture and personal revelation to dissect subjects ranging from quantum mechanics and parallel universes to missed connections and AA recovery steps. Using an array of complex visual and aural effects to produce a fluid, shifting landscape of sensory overload, YOUARENOWHERE transforms the physical performance space and warps linear time to short-circuit preconceived notions of individual perspective and what it means to be here now.

YOUARENOWHERE was part of PS122's COIL Festival in 2015, where it was called a "tour-de-force" by Time Out NY and "inventive" and "astounding" by the New York Times.

Mr. Schneider's YOUARENOWHERE's collaborative team includes Karl Franklin Allen, Alessandra Calabi, Sandra GarnerDaniel Jackson, Bobby McElver, Peter Musante and Christine Shallenberg.

YOUARENOWHERE is part of 3-Legged Dog's Artist Residency program.

Andrew Schneider is an OBIE award-winning performer, writer, and interactive electronics artist creating original works for theater, video, and installation since 2003.

Based in Brooklyn, New York, Schneider creates and performs original performance

works, builds interactive electronic art works and installations, and was a Wooster Group company member (video/performer) from 2007-2014. Rooted at the intersection of performance and technology, Schneider's work critically investigates our over-dependence on being perpetually connected in an always-on world.

In 2015, Andrew premiered YOUARENOWHERE (2015 OBIE award, special citation) to sold-out audiences in New York (as part of PS122's COIL festival), Slovenia, Melbourne, and four cities in France - as part of PS122's global initiative. He is also the recipient of the Tom Murrin Performance Award, and will be continuing to make a new experiential light and space performance piece originally developed while Artist-In-Residence at Dixon Place Theater (2014-15).

Andrew's original performance work in NYC includes YOUARENOWHERE (2015 OBIE award - The Invisible Dog); DANCE/FIELD (2014 - Dance Roulette), TIDAL (2013 -River to River festival - curated by Laurie Anderson); WOW+FLUTTER (2010 - The Chocolate Factory Theater); five AVANT-GARDE-ARAMA! works (2005-2013 -PS122); PLEASURE (2009 - Issue Project Room); and resident artist (2006) at LEMURplex. His work in Chicago includes TRUE+FALSE (2007) and STRATEGIES AGAINST ARCHITECTURE (2008) among others, both at The University of Chicago as a resident artist.

Andrew creates wearable, interactive electronic art works such as the Solar Bikini, (a bikini that charges your iPod), and wireless programmable sound effect gloves. His interactive work has been featured in such publications as Art Forum and Wired, among others and at the Center Pompidou in Paris.

Andrew is a recurring collaborator with The TEAM, Heather Christian, Lars Jan / Early Morning Opera, Hotel Savant, Fischerspooner, Kelela, and AVAN LAVA. Schneider has served as an Adjunct Professor at NYU and has taught courses on Technology and Performance at the Interactive Telecommunications Program and ETW and at Bowdoin and Carleton Colleges. Andrew holds a BFA in Theater Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Masters Degree in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU. More at andrewjs.com.
