Shuoyue Wu (ITP '27) and Dror Margalit (ITP '24) have been selected to present their work at the 17th annual Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

About the Festival

Currents New Media is an annual art and technology festival that supports 21st-century art making and innovative creatives. The festival takes place from June 12 – 21, 2026, in the Railyard Arts District at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe.

Featured Projects

Shuoyue Wu (ITP '27) will present two installations:

  • 0.83–1.17Hz: Morphogenesis of the Meditation Field: An interactive installation that transforms the participant's heartbeat into visual geometry. By touching a sensor, the participant's heart rate drives sound waves that translate sand into precise Chladni figures, creating a meditative space centered on deep stillness.

  • Eros Trilogy: An interactive installation and experimental short film exploring human desire and industrial repression. The work focuses on the instinctive link between oral activity—specifically the use of cigarettes and chewing gum—and the release of desire within a modern civilization.

Dror Margalit (ITP '24) will present a single-channel video:

  • You and I Can Actually Talk: An AI-generated film that explores social and political divisions. Using a mix of humor and discomfort, the film follows a surreal attempt to bridge the gap between strangers, asking what happens when we are forced to justify our beliefs to those who are directly affected by them.
