ITP alumna dre r. jácome ('24) has been awarded a spot in Eyebeam’s 2026 artist residency cohort, "Speculating on Plurality." She is one of six New York City based emerging artists selected for this year’s program.
Eyebeam is a leading institution for artists working at the intersection of technology and social justice. The 12-week residency, hosted at NYU Tandon @ The Yard, provides residents with a $4,000 stipend and access to advanced tools for AR/VR/XR and experiential computing. This year's program focuses on "Speculating on Plurality," challenging how algorithmic systems impact daily life and exploring ways to build more inclusive digital spaces.
About dre r. jácome
Originally from Atlanta and currently based in Brooklyn, dre r. jácome is a transdisciplinary artist and strategist. Her work integrates history, herbalism, and interactive technology to document and preserve BIPOC knowledge systems.
dre’s practice is rooted in research-heavy methodologies, including archival research, oral history, and critical ethnobotany. She has spent years collaborating with the solidarity economy, abolition, and popular education movements across Philadelphia, New York, and Bogotá. Currently, she serves as the Communications Director at the After Violence Project.
