Julie Lizardo
Class of 2021
Hello World! My name is Julie Lizardo and I am a creative engineer. I am a proud Dominican based in New York City. In 2019, I obtained a bachelor’s degree from NYU College of Arts and Science in biology with a concentration in ecology and minored in computer science and math. Now, I am pursuing a master’s degree from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in their Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP).
One of my life-long goals is to promote computer science education as well as sustainability practices in misrepresented communities. The past two summers, I have taken a step closer in that direction by teaching six-week courses in environmental science and computer science to high school students. I am currently working as a Course Assistant within the Department of Computer Science at NYU College of Arts and Science and a Graduate Assistant within NYU Tisch School of the Arts. My work consists of exploring my two passions to create unique interdisciplinary projects.
