Josephine Wang
Class of 2023
Josephine Pu-Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese lighting designer and multimedia artist who plays with light, graphics, sculpture, electronics, software in performance and installation art.
Josephine has presented artwork in Cuba and designed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. SPECTRUM received 2018 LIT Lighting Design Awards - interactive lighting project, and was exhibited in Waveform, curated by CultureHub Los Angeles in 2019.
Josephine uses visual mechanisms and interactivity to investigate human minds. The works examine personal experiences, challenge societal rules, and reconsider the consequences of civilization. Josephine collaborates with BIPOC and immigrant artists in theater, music, dance, and multimedia installation projects. In ITP, Josephine wants to continue exploring light as a medium, make technology more accessible, and bring systemic change to the inequitable social structure.
