Bodies In Motion Final Performance

Bodies in Motion, a performance art event taking place on Friday, December 18th at 7:30pm. Artists and engineers from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) and the Integrated Digital Media Program (IDM) will debut installations and performances that address notions of spectatorship and human interaction in the age of ubiquitous digital media. It is the first collaboration of this kind between Tisch School of the Arts and Tandon School of Engineering.

Based on the structure of Allan Kaprow’s 1969 performance, “18 Happenings in Six Parts,” Bodies in Motion is divided into different environments—each one independent, yet relating to the others in a synthesized whole of motion capture technology. The event consists of live  motion capture dance, virtual reality installations, and participatory performances designed through cutting-edge visual tools  to immerse the audience in play. Bodies in Motion will take place at NYU’s Media and Games Network (MAGNET) on the 8th Floor of 2 MetroTech Center in downtown Brooklyn. The event is free of charge
