Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums Veronica Mansour & Abs Wilson (both Cycle 32) featured their new musical LIGHTHOUSE in the New York Theatre Barn's New Work Series in October.
The show, which features books and lyrics by Wilson and music by Mansour, is a 6-women, fourth-wall-breaking pop country musical that follows "Bus," an 18 year old girl who wants nothing more than to escape her small Minnesota town. But what Bus really wants to escape? Herself— and everything she fears she could become. Exploring the lives of women of all ages in rural communities, the particular struggles of women with anxiety and OCD, and what it means to be yourself for the rest of your life, LIGHTHOUSE celebrates the idea that maybe, just maybe, every version of yourself is worth being.
