GMTWP Alums Selected for Johnny Mercer Songwriters Colony

Tuesday, Apr 24, 2018

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 38 established and emerging composers and lyricists, will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2018 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

The Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed is an unparalleled, long-term residency program devoted exclusively to musical theatre writing. It provides a sanctuary for composers and lyricists to embark on new musical theatre work or to devote a substantial amount of time to a work-in-progress in an environment rich with creative energy.

Several GMTWP alums were selected to participate:

Rob Baumgartner (Cycle 15), Ben Bonnema (Cycle 21), Ty Defoe (Cycle 22), Sam Salmond (Cycle 20), Tidtaya Sinutoke (Cycle 22), Chris Staskel (Cycle 21), and Georgia Stitt (Cycle 7)
