GMTWP Alums Paulo Tirol (Cycle 24) and Peter Mills (Cycle 8) had their new work presented as part of Prospect Theater's 2020 IGNITE SERIES in February.
Tiról received a concert reading of his new song cycle ON THIS SIDE OF THE WORLD, which was inspired by the Filipino immigrant experience in the United States. It was presented at the Greenwich House Theater in early February. The song cycle, a vibrant mosaic of love and loss, humor and heartache, yearning and faith eight thousand miles from home, features stories of overseas workers, young lovers, and gossipy church ladies, snapshots of undocumented immigrants, millennial princesses, and first-generation Americans.
Mills presented a concert reading of his Drama Desk Award-nominated musical THE HELLO GIRLS, which had been previously produced by Prospect Theater. The one-night concert was presented at Symphony Space on February 26th.
