The Black Women’s Film Conference, created by alum Nuotama Bodomo’s New Newgress Film Society, is showcasing alum Haley Elizabeth Anderson’s Pillars.

Pillars: After seeing a boy she likes before church, Amber sneaks out to the Sunday school bathroom during the service and is given her first kiss.

The Black Women’s Film Conference convenes Black women and non-binary filmmakers from all over the world to share work, discuss the craft, exchange filmmaking strategies, and build community. Throughout the course of the conference, they explore the current landscape of cinema and the intersections of history, filmmaking, and political action.

The conference takes place from September 7-October 4, 2020.
