IFC Films will be releasing alumnus Carlo Mirabella-Davis’ Swallow theatrically on March 6, 2020.

Swallow follows Hunter, a newly pregnant housewife, as she finds herself increasingly compelled to consume dangerous objects. As her husband and his family tighten their control over her life, she must confront the dark secret behind her new obsession.

Mirabella-Davis’ feminist thriller has received resounding success and recognition ever since its world premiere at Tribeca 2019. Among its 22 total awards this season, Swallow won Best Narrative Feature at Woodstock, Best Director and Best Screenplay at Fantasia Festival, Best Feature Film International at Milano Film Festival, Best American Independent Feature at Denver Film Festival, and the François Chalais Screenplay Award from Rencontres Cinématographiques de Cannes. Last week, the film won Best Director and Best Feature Film at Panic Fest.

Variety calls the film “stately, but deeply unsettling...a bold and unconventional thriller”.

See Swallow in theaters March 6th.
