Alum Rashaad Ernesto Green’s Premature will be theatrically released by IFC Films on February 21, 2020.
In this Harlem-set drama, college-bound Ayanna (co-writer Zora Howard) begins a tender romance with a handsome music producer, only to learn the limits of a man’s adoration and the hazards of burning too bright too young.
The film debuted at Sundance last year to critical praise. Green was recently honored with Independent Spirit’s Someone to Watch Award, and is nominated for the John Cassavetes Award. Premature marks Green’s second feature film after Gun Hill Road (2011).
