Alum Emilija Gasic’s The Wait won the Best Serbian Film Award at ProFiFest2020 in Serbia. The short also won the Audience Choice Award at the International Film Festival Cologne, where it was an Official Selection and Best Cinematography nominee. Set in post-war Yugoslavia, The Wait follows 7-year old Jovana uncovering a world of extortion and deceit involving her innocent father. He struggles to protect his family in a corrupt system of a dying country. Jovana spends four days in a suspenseful wait watching the adults making difficult decisions.

Gasic’s feature 78 Days was selected for the first stage of College of Cinema organized by Venice Biennale. During the 77th Venice International Film Festival, 12 projects have been selected for the 9th edition of Biennale College – Cinema 2020/21; their teams (composed of a director and a producer) will participate in the first 10-day workshop which will be held from October 3-12, 2020.
