Director Aaron Brookner and Executive Producer/Alumnus Jim Jarmusch
NYU Grad Film alumnus Howard Brookner ('79) made three feature films before his death from AIDS at age 35; UNCLE HOWARD, which tells the story of his life and work opens November 18 at the IFC in NYC.
The New York Times calls it “An indelible, must-see ode to gay New York.”
Executive Producer and alumnus Jim Jarmusch (NYU '79) is featured in the film along with an array of 80's cultural icons who appeared in Howard's NYU thesis BURROUGHS: The Movie which premiered at the New York Film Festival in 1983.
There will be a Q&A with director Aaron Brookner opening weekend (Nov. 18- through 20) at first evening screenings, plus special guest filmmaker and alumna Sara Driver on 11/18.
