Gala Testimonials

"I honestly can’t think of what would have made it better."- Mark Magidson, Tisch Parents' Council Co-Chair

"The Tisch Gala is a night to enjoy New York and the Tisch School on shining display. It is a night to take pride in sponsoring future artists and to see New York at its best. We have met so many interesting people, from professors to deans, to other Tisch parents. The decor was beautiful and the food excellent. Thank you again for a wonderful event!"- Betty Ann Caravella, Tisch Parents' Council member

"It truly was a wonderful event. It is a totally worthwhile function to attend, and, a very inspiring and motivational evening. I was impressed by everything, the beautiful room at the Cipriani , the lovely pre-dinner cocktails, the ambiance of the room, a delicious dinner and a glamorous audience. The red carpet was fun, and of course, the entertainment was fantastic. - Keri Craig-Lee, Tisch Parents' Council member

"The performances were extremely enjoyable."- Noela Nakos, Tisch Parents' Council member

"The Tisch Gala is a terrific opportunity to support the mission of the school while mingling in an elegant, intimate setting with Tisch parents, students, alumni (including more than a few luminaries in film, theater and music), administrators, and faculty. It is an event where a strong passion for the arts is evident in the student performances, the formal presentations and even in the casual banter around the dinner table. Our biggest surprise was the number of people who had come from the across the country – and some from across an ocean – to attend this event. The sense of community and love for the institution were palpable throughout the evening."- Michael & Jennifer Freitag, Tisch Parents' Council members

The Tisch Gala is a terrific opportunity to support the mission of the school while mingling in an elegant, intimate setting with Tisch parents, students, alumni (including more than a few luminaries in film, theater and music), administrators, and faculty. It is an event where a strong passion for the arts is evident in the student performances, the formal presentations and even in the casual banter around the dinner table. One of my favorite moments in the evening -- aside from rubbing shoulders with some of those luminaries! -- was when I realized that most of the people at my table had not only seen most of the current shows on Broadway, but they could also speak authoritatively about the merits (or lack thereof) of each show. How refreshing to have an evening where politics, sports and the weather were not central themes of discussion! My wife and I were particularly impressed with the layout of the room – with multiple stages and performance spaces guaranteeing that you felt part of the action no matter where you were seated. Our biggest surprise was the number of people who had come from the across the country – and some from across an ocean – to attend this event. The sense of community and love for the institution were palpable throughout the evening.
