The NYU Game Center is a thriving nexus for the amazing New York City game scene, creating dynamic, inclusive spaces for independent artists, AAA developers, competitive eSports players, and game academics alike to come together and celebrate game design. The Game Center aims to advance the state of the art of games and to support groups and organizations all over NYC who doing important work to bring the culture around games to new and exciting places. Our busy schedule includes lectures, workshops, exhibitions, tournaments, playtests, and more. Most of these events are free and open to the public – we hope to see you at one soon!

An open-ended conversation about how the game industry works, and how it could work better. Possible topics include: enforced crunch and mass layoffs, sexism and other forms of bias in the workplace, the feasibility of unions, the economics of free-to-play, and the viability of indie development in the crowded channels of the digital marketplace. Join the Game Center faculty and your fellow students for an open-ended, freewheeling discussion of these and other issues that will effect your life as a professional game designer.
