Louis Scheeder

Founder and director of The Classical Studio, an advanced training program in the Department of Drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Louis Scheeder is on of America's most influential teachers.  During the 1970's he earned plaudits as Profducer of the Folger Theatre Group, a vibrant Capitol Hill ensemble that presented not only Elizabethan classics but cutting-edge work by such 20th-century dramatists such as Edward Bond, Michael Ondaajte, and David Storey.  In recent years, Mr. Scheeder has worked in both Canada and England (not only with the Royal Shakespeare Company with with The Factory in London). Meanwhile, he has produced three Off-Broadway shows, among them Amlin Gray's Obie-winning How I Got That Story. And, in collaboration with Shane Ann Younts, he has produced  All The Words on Stage: A Complete Pronunciation Dictionary for the Plays of William Shakespeare.
