Program Mission

The Future Theatre Artists Program is dedicated to developing the mind, body, voice, and spirit of the young artist by revealing each participant's unique artistic voice through the experience of live performance.

Outcomes for the Future Theatre Artists Program:
The emerging artist will cultivate skills that will celebrate the individual while working within a collaborative ensemble
The emerging artist will develop their unique and expressive artistic voice, body, spirit and mind to make connections between their lives and artistic expression and receive a basic foundation for further study in the expressive art of live theatre
The emerging artist will explore the relationship between research and critical thought as a source for inspiration, imagination and creativity

Our mission is realized by providing our emerging theatre artists with a variety of skills drawn from the cannon of the world masters. The skills acquired during the exploration and developing of each artist’s unique voice will be applied to many forms of creative theatrical expression.

Future Theatre Artists is facilitated by Drama Faculty and guided by staff, alumni, and current upper-level students.

This program is free and hosted by the Tisch School of the Arts Department of Drama.
