4th ANNUAL CLIMATE CHANGE FILM FESTIVAL
NYU Global Climate Change Film Festival Marks Earth Day with 2026 Awards Ceremony
The fourth annual NYU Global Climate Change Film Festival will culminate on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the NYU Center for Genomics and Systems Biology, Room G08, 12 Waverly Place, New York City, with a concurrent global public livestream beginning at 5:00 p.m. EDT (21:00 UTC). The festival invites one- to three-minute films from students and alumni across NYU’s global campuses and the University of the Arctic network, exploring climate change, environmental sustainability, and environmental experience in all its forms.
Monday April 20, leading up to the awards ceremony, the festival will present a luncheon lecture by Naomi Oreskes from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Tisch School of the Arts Dean’s Conference Room, 721 Broadway, 12th Floor. In “From Jeffrey Epstein to Glyphosate: How Corporations and ‘Philanthropists’ Have Corrupted Science and Undermined Public Trust,” Oreskes will speak and answer questions moderated by Emil Flato. This event will be livestreamed. Seating is limited. Advance registration is required.
Tuesday, April 21, the Climate and Sustainability EXPO will bring together NYU’s courses, research initiatives, and creative projects centered on climate, environment, and sustainability. The EXPO will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Eisner & Lubin Auditorium on the fourth floor of the NYU Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, and is open to NYU and UArctic students, faculty, alumni, and community members.
Wednesday April 22, the NYU Global Climate Change Film Festival will open with a featured talk by NYU climate scientist David Holland, “A Sea Curtain for Thwaites Glacier: Slowing Ice Loss at the Source,” presenting an update from his most recent Antarctic fieldwork as part of a multinational, long-term research project. Winning entries will be screened and prizes awarded during the 5:00 p.m. program. The in-person event is open to the NYU–UArctic community, and the livestream will be accessible to the public worldwide. Limited seating. Advance registration is required.
