Thursday November 1 2018 marked the closing of the Kimmel Windows Gallery exhibition. This exhibition featured excerpts from Ghost Fishing: An Eco-Justice Poetry Anthology (University of Georgia Press, 2017), as well as living plant sculptures that were tended to by volunteers and students over the course of the exhibition.

Hosted at New York University's Torch Club, Ghost Fishing: An Evening of Eco Justice Poetry, was a warm celebration of the contribution made by poets to the Ghost Fishing Anthology. It was also a farewell and tribute to the collaborative efforts behind the exhibition, acknowledging NYU departments such as Art & Public Policy, The Writing Program at Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and the Art, Education & Community Practice Program, Department of Art and Art Professions at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development.

Prof. Kathy Engels introduced the event, then the audience were treated to readings from the Ghost Fishing Anthology by Melissa Tuckey (editor), as well as contributing poets Kimberly Blaiser and Tim Seilbes. Language as Action students Logan Stacer, Ellie Bullard, and Laura Cabochan read poems they had written in response to the anthology and the exhibition.
