Charlie is the writer and producer of the new musical, Goldstein, coming to Off-Broadway in the fall of 2017. He has performed his one-man-quick-change comedy Natural History X at universities across the country. He recently completed a new play, The Funniest Play Ever, and the television pilot Earylybirds. Charlie is the writer and producer of The Fartiste (Best Musical NYC Fringe, Off-Broadway and in concert at The Charring Cross Theater in London's West End). The Fartiste was based on his screenplay of the same name. His play The Great Man was a finalist for The Terrance McNally Award. Off-Broadway Credits include: Angel of Death (American Jewish Theater), The Ground Zero Club (Playwrights Horizons), and The Birthday Present (Circle Rep). Charlie has premiered new plays at New Jersey Rep and The Magic Theater. Other awards include: The Charles MacArthur Award for Comedy, The Paulette Goddard Fellowship, The Walton Fellowship (Arena Stage). He was also a three-time winner of The Avery Hopwood Award for Drama from The University of Michigan. Charlie's plays are published by The Dramatists Play Service.
His chapter on Playwriting appears in The Portable MFA in Creative Writing (Writers Digest). Charlie wrote sketch comedy for The Apollo Comedy Hour television show for three seasons (Tribune Company/Inner City Broadcasting) He has also sold 1/2 hour pilots to CBS and 20th Century Television.
