David Rios
Assistant Arts Professor
David Rios is an Assistant Arts Professor in the Interactive Telecommunications Program / Interactive Media Arts program (ITP/IMA) at Tisch NYU. He holds a BA in Psychology from Harvard University and an MPS from Tisch's Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP)
Rios is an educator and artist whose work explores various forms of interface design and experience design. His work uses sound and electronics as a catalyst for collaboration, playful experiences, and relationship building through shared learning. Rios teaches courses in physical computing, experience design, interface design. He has collaborated on workshops, shows, projects with a variety of artists and collectives, as well as NYU’s Time-Based Media Art Conservation program, Integrated Design and Media program (IDM), and Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
Prior to NYU, Rios taught at the City College of New York. He has also worked as an Assistant Digital Tools Manager at the New School, a curriculum developer for CS4All program (NYC Department of Education) and as an assistant video instructor for the City Parks Foundation.
