Annie Stanton

Annie Stanton is the Executive Director of Special Programs at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she leads a diverse portfolio of residential, online, and international programs serving undergraduate, graduate, visiting, and pre-college students. With more than 25 years of experience in higher education and digital learning, Annie has been at the forefront of innovation in arts education and global engagement.

She began her career in marketing and advertising in Australia, Los Angeles, and New York before transitioning into higher education in 1993. At NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, she spearheaded the development of over 15 professional IT certification programs, launched a new B.S. in Communications Technology, and played a key role in establishing NYU’s first online master’s degree, the M.S. in Management and Systems, and online graduate certificate programs in technology. In fall 2024, she designed and launched the newest entirely online M.A. Media Producing at Tisch.  

Beyond academia, Annie was a principal founder of an IT MSP/software development company, guiding it from inception to profitability, growing the team to more than 100 employees with offices in New York and India.

A former high school exchange student who has lived internationally, Annie is deeply committed to fostering global perspectives in education. She holds a B.A. in Creative Writing and an M.A. in Humanities and Social Thought, both from New York University.
