Sofy Solomon

Sofy Solomon is a media professional who is committed to developing storytellers, everywhere. She has built writing programs at Sesame Street, Disney and the New York Public Library, launching writing careers that have gone on to earn 2 Emmy Wins, 15 Emmy nominations and counting. She also works as an independent producer/talent manager, representing a diverse roster of artists whose work has been featured at Netflix, Apple, DreamWorks and more. In her spare time, she is building an anonymous, digital reading/writing exchange, The Thread, whose contributors’ works have been recognized at Sundance, TIFF, SFFILM, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Sofy was a Producer on the PBS Kids animated series Work it Out Wombats!, which received a GLAAD Media Award Nomination. She was an Associate Producer for the viral digital series The Loving Generation, which generated 16 million views for First Look Media/Topic Studios. The series features Nikole Hannah-Jones, Soledad O'Brien, Elaine Welteroth and Melissa Harris-Perry, and it was Directed/Produced by Lacey Schwartz and Mehret Mandefro and Executive Produced by Ezra Edelman and Anna Holmes.
Sofy has a BA in Economics from Yale University and a MA in Anthropology/Music from EHESS in Paris. Her hobbies include playing the cello, participating in local sustainability efforts and attending as many cultural events as possible (ideally in public parks).
