Sofia Alvarez’s plays include Between Us Chickens (SCR, EST LA), Life Drawing, The Fish Bowl, NYLON, Friend Art (Second Stage Uptown) The Orphan’s Club, Corpse Pose and LODGE. With composer Daniel Roland Tierney she adapted a musical version of William Steig’s classic children’s book, Amos & Boris for South Coast Rep. She has developed work with Ars Nova, Primary Stages, Playwright’s Horizons, New Georges’, Rattlestick, The Royal Court, The Kennedy Center, South Coast Rep, the Amoralists, Slant Theater Co, Iama Theater Co. and at SPACE on Ryder Farm. Work in television includes the first two seasons of Man Seeking Woman (FXX) and the first season of Sirens (USA). She recently adapted Jenny Han’s bestselling novel To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before for Awesomeness TV and is currently working on a film adaptation of Rebecca Scherm’s Unbecoming. She is a graduate of Bennington College and The Juilliard School’s Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program. She has served as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts.
