MA Media Producing Class of 2028

Hometown: Los Altos, California

Alix is completing a Master's Degree in Media Producing at NYU Tisch. She graduated with a B.A. in American History from Salve Regina University. Additionally, she completed an intensive course in business and filmmaking at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts under the guidance of Professor Kim Sherman (p.g.a.) and a semester abroad in London. She began her work in the nonprofit space at the age of fourteen with INARA and War Child, and has caught the storytelling "bug" since then. Alix is interested in the intersection of storytelling, talent representation, and business & legal affairs in the media and entertainment industries. Her dream job is to become a development executive for Hello Sunshine, with a focus on book-to-screen adaptations.

Why are you pursuing the MA Media Producing?

I am pursuing an MA in Media Producing as it aligns with my career goals of becoming a development executive down the line. Although this is an online program, I feel I have already begun building a community of future industry leaders. This includes discussing topics such as the principles of producing, business and entertainment law, the close, collaborative environment, and the opportunity to work with faculty who have extensive experience in the media and entertainment industries. Their lesson plans are not just about the knowledge they have gained, but also about further teaching the producer's craft to future industry leaders, and that is a privilege to be part of.
