NYU Africa House has awarded Photography & Imaging chair Dr. Deborah Willis with a Hero Award. The award is given in recognition of her work examining photography’s multifaceted histories, visual culture, the photographic history of slavery and emancipation, contemporary women photographers, and beauty.
The award will be conferred at the Africa House Gala Celebration on April 18 at 6:00PM.
