Joey Solomon, an alum of the Department of Photography & Imaging at NYU Tisch, was one of the photographers awarded the Emerging Photography Award from Feature Shoot, an online journal of international photography. The 5th annual international competition selected thirty-one photographers out of hundreds of submissions to be part of the upcoming group show at Aperture Gallery in Chelsea, New York on January 23, 2020 from 6-8PM.

In Joey's ‘Portraits of Bob Coombs’, the Brooklyn-based photographer found inspiration and affirmation his dear friend Robert Andy Coombs, a gay man living in a wheel chair–and explores his own life, struggles, and triumphs in the process.
