Eunjung Yang

I am a senior at New York University Tisch School of the Arts studying Performance Studies with a minor in Producing, with a strong focus on creative exploration at the intersection of performance, technology, and visual storytelling. My interests center on building immersive experiences that combine projection, real-time media, and staged performance, often experimenting with how audiences emotionally and perceptually engage with digital environments. I am particularly drawn to multimedia performance, concert visuals, and screen-based installations that blur the boundary between physical presence and mediated image. My work is shaped by an interest in hyperreality, repetition, and the relationship between performer and audience, and I enjoy using tools like TouchDesigner and AI-based image and video generation to translate abstract ideas into visually striking forms. Through my practice, I aim to create experiences that are both visually compelling and emotionally resonant, encouraging audiences to reflect on their own perception and role within the performance.

Why Performance Studies?
I chose to study Performance Studies at New York University because it allows me to explore performance not just as theater, but as a broader cultural and media practice, connecting my interests in storytelling, technology, and audience experience.
