Open Arts instructor Peter Lucas will premiere his new film, Lost in the Woods, during the New York Shorts International Film Festival, this Friday, October 10th at 2:00 pm at Cinema Village.
Years in the making, this film is a retelling of an ancient folk tale using vintage real photo postcards that are animated to evoke the departure of a girl from her village, the paths through the trees, witches in the forest, timber wolves, hunters and woodsmen, big pines being cut down, smoking mills, horses and sleighs, a talking cat, the search for the missing girl, and ghostly apparitions in the woods.
The filmmakers Peter Lucas and Garry Waller will be present for a Q&A afterwards.
