Current students from The Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program will present a concert of new songs in "Village Song" on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022. The event is an ongoing collaboration between The Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and Rattlestick Theater located in NYC's Greenwich Village.
The Year 2 graduating students took on the task of exploring the rich and fascinating history of the Village and created an anthology of original songs inspired by their findings. From Jane Jacob’s valiant fight to save the neighborhood to a spooky ghost story to the Yiddish theater, the stories reach many famous and hidden corners of the Village. Produced, written, and performed by the students themselves, the songs explore a range of diverse perspectives and capture the the lively spirit of the village to celebrate a community of artists finally coming together again!
