Program alums Angelica Chéri and Ross Baum (Cycle 24) and the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program were spotlighted in the September 16th (online) NY Times feature celebrating this fall's opening of Chéri and Baum's Broadway-bound WANTED. The feature will appear in the Sept 20th paper edition of the Times.
WANTED finds its story in the family lore of Chéri's real-life great-great aunts in 1800s Texas, and was first developed as a thesis project in 2014 when Chéri and Baum were in their second year at the Program. WANTED marks the first time a GMTWP thesis project has come to Broadway. Directed by Stevie Walker-Webb, WANTED begins previews on October 15th and is set to open on November 8th at the James Earl Jones Theater. To read the NY Times article (paywalled), click HERE.
