Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums Tommy Newman (cycle 15) and Jaime Lozano (Cycle 18) won the Pipeline Foundation Arts Award for their musical ROJA with Newman winning for book and lyrics and Lozano winning for music and lyrics. They will receive $20,000 toward the continuing development of the musical.

Over $100,000 was awarded to seven new musicals by the Pipeline Foundation. Pipeline is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to moving musical theater forward, and provides vital support to early- and mid-career artists as they develop boundary-pushing work.
