The American Lyric Theatre 20th anniversary gala featured scenes from operas by alumni of ALT’s Composer Librettist Development Program, including Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums Deborah Brevoort (cycle 6/faculty), Tony Asaro (cycle 16), and Royce Vavrek (cycle 16). The performance was October 23 at Merkin Hall.
A highlight of the gala was a preview of LINCOLN IN THE BARDO, with a libretto by Vavrek (16), commissioned by The Metropolitan Opera.
