Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums Jesse Kearney & Peter Mills (both Cycle 8) will present a concert of songs from their musical-in-progress about African American filmmaker Oscar Micheaux.
The concert will be presented on March 26-27 at the 59E59 theaters in NYC and is being produced as part of Prospect Theater's IGNITE concert series and will feature the music of Alphonso Horne.
Explore the story of groundbreaking African American filmmaker Oscar Micheaux through a developmental concert presentation of new songs from a work-in-process jazz musical. The evening will feature a 6-piece jazz ensemble, lead by composer and trumpeter Alphonso Horne, alongside a line-up of vocalists.
