GMTWP alums Deborah Brevoort (Cycle 6 & Adjunct Faculty), Matt Boresi (Cycle 11), Peter Hilliard (also Cycle 11), and Rachel J. Peters (Cycle 14) have all been involved with the Decameron Opera Coalition, which consists of 9 different independent opera companies across the US to help create “Tales from a Safe Distance”, which features nine World Premiere one-act operas, and a tenth wrap-around story starring internationally renowned bass-baritone Luca Pisaroni. The project, which has employed 86 artists (musicians, composers, librettists, singers) during the pandemic launches on Friday, October 9th, 2020.
The Decameron Opera Coalition aims to keep opera alive, new work blossoming, singers singing, and audiences rapt, even in these alarming times, through a new collaboration of unprecedented scope.
