Stevie Wonder with the Reading Machine Courtesy of Sloan
Professor Lara Shapiro was recently interviewed about her upcoming film The Talking Book by Sloan Science and Film. The film is based on the life of Shapiro's mother, Bernice Shapiro, who was the saleswoman for the Kurzweil Reading Machine, which could read books to blind people.
Professor Shapiro won the Sloan-Tribeca Filmmaker Fund grant in 2011 for The Talking Book, which gives money to support films that focus on science and technology.
