Taylor Sanghyun Lee is the recipient of the 2025 Grad Film Volker Bahnemann Award for Outstanding Cinematography.

Taylor Sanghyun Lee is a Director & Cinematographer based in NYC. Before filmmaking, he worked as a Software Engineer, developing mobile applications in the healthcare industry. He was selected for the Sundance Ignite Fellowship, the TIFF x CJ K-Story Fund, and the Marcie Bloom Fellowship in Film. His short film, LAYOVER, starring Young Mazino, is streaming online as a Vimeo Staff Pick, and his upcoming short, PARKSIDE EAST, is the recipient of the Spike Lee Production Grant.

The Volker Bahnemann Award for Outstanding Cinematography was established in 2010 to honor Bahnemann’s 48 years at ARRI; he served 32 years as CEO and President of ARRI Inc. and ARRI CSC. Mr. Bahnemann was responsible for the initiation, development and refinement of many significant filmmaking technologies such as the ARRI ALEXA, ALEXA MINI, ARRIFLEX 35III, ARRIFLEX 765, ARRIFLEX 435 AND ARRIFLEX 235 camera, as well as ARRI/Zeiss High Speed and Variable Prime lenses.
