Alum Jorge Sistos Moreno has received this year’s Jeff Lima Production Award.
Jorge's short film, In Freedom, is about an indigenous Guatemalan couple in charge of their grandchildren who receive an unexpected visitor after hours, threatening to throw their lives into complete disarray.
Jeff Lima has expressed his sincere gratitude to all the filmmakers who have embraced the call to action for the advancement of Latinx representation in film, and he enthusiastically encourages this year’s applicants to submit a screenplay for consideration, for the subsequent award year.
The Jeff Lima Production Award was created by Jeff Lima to help support NYU Tisch Grad Film work that advances the Latinx presence on screen. You can read more about Jeff here, and more about the Award here.
