At the 2021 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, alum Ramzi Bashour’s The Trees won the Special Jury Prize.

The short film follows a plant scientist who attends his father's funeral in rural Lebanon, only to discover that a pathogen is infecting the trees throughout his village. DPd by fellow alum Alfonso Herrera Salcedo, this is a dark comedy about tradition, grief, and the environment.

The Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival is the biggest international film festival dedicated to short films.
