"Heading South" by Yuan Yuan
Grad Film student Yuan Yuan took home the award for Best Student U.S. Short at Palm Springs International Shortfest 2020. Yuan Yuan won for her Second Year Film, "Heading South," which follows an 8-year-old girl as she travels from her home in the Mongolian grasslands to visit her father who lives in the big city.
