Grad Film Alumna Dee Rees co-wrote, produced and directed Netflix’s upcoming feature “The Last Thing He Wanted,” adapted from the novel by Joan Didion. The political thriller follows a journalist who quits her job to broker an arms deal in Central America. Dee Rees was previously nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2018 Oscars for “Mudbound”.
“The Last Thing He Wanted” cast features Anne Hathaway, Willem Dafoe, Tobie Jones, Rosie Perez, and Ben Affleck. The film was shot in Puerto Rico and is set to premiere on Netflix at the end of this year.
