Art Parnitudom, a current Graduate Film student, shot the upcoming short film Time to Go, which will premiere this Friday, November 23rd at the historic Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Art is an Associate Member of the Society of Camera Operators. His works have screened at Oscar-qualifying Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, IFF Boston, and the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers.

Time to Go is a short narrative piece written by filmmaker Rio Contrada while caring for his father, who was diagnosed with a degenerative illness called PSP. The film parallels the protagonist's efforts to escape from the family house in the present day with his drive for adventure as a young man in 1975. Rio Contrada is a graduate of Emerson College and former assistant to producers John Lesher (Birdman, Hostiles) and Norton Herrick (Lone Survivor, Two Guns). He returned home from Los Angeles to be a caretaker during his father's final years. Fred Contrada died on November 6th at age 66.

They said of the film, "We utilize a nonlinear story structure to demonstrate the fluidity of life. A person could be struggling to walk in one moment, but might be a mountain climber in another. Which should we remember? While we offer no illusions of a happy ending, we hope to reassure those suffering from degenerative illnesses that their lives aren't defined by one phase."
