Alumnus Jonas Carpignano won the David di Donatello Award for Best Director last week for his film A Ciambra. A Ciambra also took home the award for Best Editing. The David di Donatello Awards are Italy's equivalent to the Academy Awards.
The film follows a 14-year-old boy living in a small Romani community in Calabria who must step up and fill his brothers shoes when he goes missing.
